Inscription. "The [10-inch] Columbiad was rigidly impartial, and fired on the boats as... ircumstances dictated, with...the last few shots... directed at the Carondelet... hugging the eastern shore and... a little in advance of others... Several well-directed shots raked the side and tore away her armor..."
