Logan Square in Philadelphia in Philadelphia County, Pennsylvania — The American Northeast (Mid-Atlantic)
Six Pillars
Welcome to the Philadelphia Holocaust Memorial Plaza. The Philadelphia Holocaust Remembrance Foundation renovated this site in 2018 to promote awareness of and dialogue about the bloodiest genocide of the twentieth century.
The pillars before you memorialize the six million Jewish victims murdered by Nazi Germany and its Collaborators.
The texts on the pillars are presented in pairs. Each pair chronicles an atrocity of the Holocaust and contrasts it with American constitutional protections and values established here in Philadelphia. Together, these pairs of text proclaim that, so long as the people of the United States remain faithful to the Constitution and tolerant of each other, a genocide like the Holocaust will not occur here.
The texts are presented in chronological order of the events of the Holocaust, beginning with the pair titled "Human Equality" and "The Master Race."

1. Inaccuracy in the marker
Unfortunately, contrary to the marker's intent, the United States has participated in acts of genocide, especially of its indigenous peoples.
