Inscription.
These sections of train track were pulled from the ground near the Treblinka death camp in Poland. The Philadelphia Holocaust Remembrance Foundation imbeds them here to recall the industrial efficiency that defined the Nazi's "Final Solution to the Jewish Question." Trains transported millions of Jews to their deaths.

In many cases, Nazis crammed their victims into freight cars bound directly for sites of extermination. Immediately upon exiting the cars, they were stripped of clothing, packed into gas chambers labeled "showers," and poisoned with carbon monoxide. other Jews were forced to collect and burn the bodies, destroying the evidence of genocide and making room for additional victims.
