Village of Ossining Community Center - Weskoria Hotel
The Joseph G. Caputo Community Center is home to the Ossining Heritage Area exhibit, showcasing the history of the first chartered municipality in Westchester County. The Center, which was constructed after urban renewal and the widening of Route 9, contains a comprehensive exhibit focusing on Sing Sing Prison and the Old Croton Aqueduct, each of which played a critical role in New York State history. We welcome you to spend time exploring the exhibit to enhance your walking tour experience. The building also houses recreation and meeting facilities.
Featured in the photo is the Weskoria Hotel, a prominent landmark at the corner of Broadway and Route 9. The Hotel offered travelers, many of whom arrived in horse and carriage, the opportunity to stay in the heart of the Village.
