Unfortunately, the marker has been defaced.
Two artists have been commissioned to create sculptures and murals as part of the New York City Economic Development Corporation's and the New York City Department of City Planning's effort to enhance Flushing's streetscape. The artists were selected based on technical merit and a proven track record as well as the ability creatively portray historic Flushing and the diversity that the community currently benefits from. This was done with community participation as part of the New York City Department of Cultural Affairs Percen Partners Project. We hope you enjoy these artistic contributions to Flushing.
