American Crow:
Aggressive and intelligent, crows live in family groups and prey on carrion and other bird nests. They frequently harass large predatory birds like hawks and owls.

Black-capped Chickadee: Small friendly birds, Chickadees forage seeds and nuts throughout the forest and nest in tree cavities.

Blue Jay: Loud Blue Jays live in family groups and have a fondness for acorns. They are credited with spreading Oak trees to Pennsylvania after the Ice Age.

Downy Woodpecker: At 6 ˝ inches, this small woodpecker is an acrobat while hunting insects in the tree bark.

Hairy Woodpecker: Measuring 9.˝” long, the Hairy Woodpecker has a large bill to help get deep in the tree for wood boring larvae and beetles.

Pileated Woodpecker:
Largest of the woodpeckers, the Pileated Woodpecker pecks large square holes while feeding on insects and ants that other birds and bats use for nests.

Tufted Titmouse: Sometimes seen in mixed flocks with the Black-capped Chickadee, the Tufted Titmouse feeds on seeds.

Turkey Vulture: Soaring high overhead with wings in a slight V shape, the Turkey Vulture is always on the lookout for its next meal of carrion.

White-breasted Nuthatch: Able to move head-first down trees to find insects and seeds, the cheerful White-breasted Nuthatch makes a soft honking call to alert of its presence.
