1. Keeper's Boathouse Marker
In 1902, the U. S. Lighthouse Service
authorized the construction
of a boathouse on the Portage River to
facilitate access by the Keeper
to service the lighthouse located on
the West Pier of the harbor entrance.
When the lighthouse was removed
in 1952, the boathouse was relocated to
the adjacent park where it remained
until 2010, when it was demolished.

original design drawings on file at the
