Kerrobert was the seat of the judicial circuit from 1913 to 1996. The courthouse held offices of sheriff, court clerk, district court judge, and provincial police. The basement had jail cells and the second floor held courtroom, law library and judge's chambers.
In 1996 the Town of Kerrobert purchased the building and it remains an important local landmark.
