cities. Constance Smedley had set up the first Lyceum Club in London in 1904, as a meeting and activity space for women involved in literary, artistic and intellectual projects. Other women soon founded Lyceum Clubs in Berlin (1905), Paris (1906), Brussels (1913), New York (1914), and later in Rome, Stockholm, Milan, Florence, The Hague, Innsbruck, London, Havana and Madrid (1926).
