Inscription. In colonial times patriots often gathered by designated trees to sow the seeds of revolution and freedom. Such trees came to symbolize American liberty. This oak tree is dedicated to the people of Marion County as a living tribute to our founding fathers.
 
Erected by Ocala Sons of the American Revolution.
