McDowell's, (1st) Brig. Sherman's (5th) Division.,
Army of the Tennessee.

At 9 a.m. April 6, 1862, this regiment formed in line of battle 100 yards south of here. Its skirmishers only had been engaged when at 10 a.m. It was ordered to join its division on the Hamburg-Purdy Road. It was next engaged on west side of Cresent Field.
