Regarding U.S. Colored Troops Memorial. There are 1,910 USCT buried in the cemetery. Many were members of the 1st and 2nd Colored Brigades who fought and died in the Dec. 15-16, 1864 Battle of Nashville. The monument was officially unveiled in 2006. Radcliffe, the model for the 9-foot-tall bronze statue, was a member of Sons of Union Veterans of the Civil War Camp #62.
