**** Killed in line of duty ****
As a law enforcement officer
my fundamental duty is to serve mankind
** To safeguard lives and property **
** Protect the innocent against deception **
** The weak against oppression or intimidation **
** Shield the peaceful against violence or disorder **
** To respect the constitutional rights of all men to liberty,
equality and justice **
To uphold this belief
i will give my life
In honor of Neal D. Fowler, first Clyde police officer
killed in the line of duty on December 6, 1938
and commemorate this day on the 50th anniversary
of his untimely death
Dedicated this 4th day of December, 1988
by Officers of The Clyde Police Department..
