Collegiate Basilica of Our Lady of Guanajuato

The Collegiate Basilica of Our Lady of Guanajuato was built between 1671 and 1696.

With its baroque and neoclassical style abroad, it has a main cover made up of three organisms; while in its internal part in the form of a Latin cross it has a ship, a dome, a cruise ship, two bell towers and a golden altar with the image of the Virgin of Our Lady of Guanajuato.

Its construction and decoration was sponsored by the Guanajuato miners. In addition to the patron saint of the city, the church also has images of the Sacred Heart of Jesus, San Ignacio de Loyola and, at the top of the central altar, the statue of Santa Fe de Guanajuato. His name and sculpture refer both to the statue of Santa Fe de Granada, place of origin of the image, and to the founding title of the noble and loyal city of Real de Minas de Santa Fe de Guanajuato.

Inside there is a tubular organ of 1,098 tubes, its bright tapestry and outside its large neoclassical towers.
