of the Company, is if magnificent collection of paintings of the XVIII century with works made by painters like Miguel Cabrera. The original dome collapsed in 1808 and for the church to continue in service, it was decided to raise walls to separate the most damaged parts.

However the Jesuits were expelled from all the Spanish territories two years after the conclusion of the temple, in 1767,- with the consequent closure of the College and the trade schools, the mining town arose, being strongly repressed by the viceregal authorities, whose punishment weighed on the city for many years. This event is considered one of the economic reasons for the rise of independence of the country in 1810.
