The M37 was the follow-up to Dodge's successful WC series in World War II. After being used extensively by the United States armed forces during the Korean War, it was replaced in the 1970s by the commercial truck based 1Ό ton M715 and M880 series. Between 1951 and 1954 about 63,000 of this model were made. Post 1970, it was common to encounter these vehicles in government auctions and in use by civilian agencies.
The Dodge Weapons Carrier was used by both the regular Army, and National Guard units as the standard support vehicle for movement of light weapons and supplies.

More about this marker. Streets given are inside Camp Beauregard. Located on the grounds of the Louisiana National Guard, Camp Beauregard base. The Louisiana Maneuvers & Military Museum is located on site.
