Calhoun County in the Civil War. . Though sparsely populated, Calhoun County raised five companies of soldiers for service in the Confederate army: Company B, Sixth Arkansas Infantry, Companies E and G, Second Arkansas Cavalry, and Companies A and K, Fourth Arkansas Infantry Regiment. Henry G. Bunn of Calhoun County served in Company A of the Fourth Arkansas and became colonel of the regiment in late 1862. Col. Bunn led his men through most of the great battles of the Army of Tennessee until the end of the war. Hampton Cemetery is the final resting place of several Civil War veterans. . This historical marker was erected in 2015 by Arkansas Civil War Sesquicentennial Commission, Calhoun County, Arkansas Historic Preservation Program. It is in Hampton in Calhoun County Arkansas
