Welcome to the Palmetum
William Fawcett introduced 32 palm species into the Palmetum including the Royal Palm of Cuba, from which the Tainos used to make musical instruments. Today you can still see approximately 19 palm species: Maccafat, Ruffle Palm, Betel Nut Palm, Italian Cahoon, Talipot Palm, Hurricane Palm, Bottle Palm, Lady Finger Palm, Chinese Fan Palm, Thief Palm, Date Palm, Pinanga Palm, Solitaire Palm, Travellers Palm, Bull Thatch Palm, Fishtail Palm, Sago Palm and Ostrich Feather Palm.
