1. Buffalo Bill Cody Marker
Inscription. At the age of 17 Cody enlisted as a teamster with the Seventh Kansas Cavalry. He gained a reputation as a buffalo hunter, supplying meat for railroad workers. As chief of scouts for the army, he took part in battles and delivered important dispatches to neighboring military posts. After he became known for his performances in Wild West shows, he described his early experiences in the Omaha Daily Bee, July 24, 1887.
