General Manager Tidewater and Norfolk Tides
1963-2011
Dave Rosenfleld was only the second general manager in team history, serving from 1963-2011. He won four International League Executive of the Year Awards ('75, "82, '87, '93). In 2008 he was named to the International League Hall of Fame. He served as Vice President of the International League since 1978. The Tides won five International League titles under his direction.
Rosenfeld accepted the Baseball America Triple-A Bob Freitas Award on behalf of the Tides in 1994. Named the 2004 "King of Baseball", he has been inducted into the Tidewater Baseball Shrine and the Hampton Roads Sports Hall of Fame. His organization won the National Associations top honor in 1993, the John H. Johnson President's Trophy.
He had an impact on more than just baseball in the Norfolk area serving as interim General Manager of the ABA's Virginia Squires, General Manager of the Norfolk Neptunes Professional Football Team and the Southιrn Hockey League's Tidewater Sharks.
