The Palmer Family Residence
Established 1912
Built in 1874 in the Second Empire architectural style, B.J. and Mabel Palmer purchased the house in 1912. They made several additions throughout the years including the front porch and greenhouses.

• (Left) The Palmers were avid world travelers in the early 1920s. Many of the artifacts from those travels are on display in the residence and campus grounds today.
• (Right) The large greenhouse that once stood at the southwest corner of the Residence was known as “A Little Bit of Heaven”. This and the courtyard gardens were a major tourist attraction for many years.
The Palmer Family Residence was posted to the National Register of Historic Places on July 27, 1984.
