Dam Removal Project
To Improve water quality and make the river easier to navigate for recreational purposes, the old steel mill dam built around 1915 (pictured left) was removed in October 2020 by the design/build team of Marucci and Gaffney Excavating Company along with Riverworks which consists of GDP Group, EnviroScience Inc., and River Reach Construction.
The project was funded through the Ohio Environmental Protection Agency's Water Resource Restoration Sponsor Program (WRRSP).
