Dalton House
Dalton, born enslaved in 1839 in Richmond, Virginia, lived in Mississippi at the beginning of the Civil War. After emancipation he enlisted in the Union Navy. He left the service in 1864 in Cairo, Illinois.
Dalton married Lumisa Hall in 1892. They had no children but raised a foster son named Samuel Brown. Dalton died in 1920. Lumisa moved to Chicago in the 1930s where she died.

A privy, chicken house and shed have been constructed to mirror structures on the Dalton's lot in 1897.
