Inscription. Constructed 1876
This building served as a place of worship and a school for the post’s children. The modest one-story building is a good example of vernacular church architecture from the 1870’s

The marker is mounted to the southeast corner of the building.
 
Regarding Camp Reynolds Chapel. The entire island is a state park, except for Point Blunt on the southeastern tip, which is controlled by the U.S. Coast Guard.
