1. Welcome to Bryant Park Marker

Inscription. Bryant Park Corporation, a private not-for-profit company, was founded in 1980 to renovate, restore, maintain, and operate this urban oasis, designated a Scenic Landmark in 1974 by the NYC Landmarks Preservation Commission. Designed in the French Classical tradition, Bryant Park's six acres feature 269 trees, including London Plane along the promenades; more than 100 species of woody shrubs, herbaceous perennials, annuals, and 150,000 bulbs; a 1.1-acre lawn; and seven monuments. More than 15,000 people visit Bryant Park on an average spring or summer day.
