Reina Prinsen Geerligs
Semarang, 7 oktober 1922- Sachsenhausen, 24 november 1943
Writer Reina Prinsen Geerligs was part of CS-6. This resistance group committed the most attacks of all organizations in the war. Under the pseudonym "Leentje Vandendriesch", Reina worked as a courier, looked after people in hiding and was involved in attacks. Due to betrayal, the resistance group was rounded up in the summer of 1943. Her last message from prison was, "I'm proud of what I've done."
On November 24, 1943, in Sachsenhausen concentration camp, Reina and two other female members of CS-6, Nel Hissink-van den Brink and Truus van Lier, were shot. Witnesses later stated that they were singing and walked towards the firing squad with heads held high.
After the war, her parents set up the Reina Prinsen Geerligs Prize for young writing talent.

3. Reina Prinsen Geerligs Memorial Plaque
Directly across the street from the marker, mounted on No. 28, is a memorial plaque with this question-and-answer quote (in translation):
"I stand here in the midst of misery, my hands and my feet as if made of lead. Behold, death is already peeking around yonder corner. It's like I knew him from before. My God, my God why am I forsaken?
So that you will go better, so that you will understand better, what it means to be human."
