Inscription. Notice the area behind the waterfalls? This is where the CCC Boys lived.

Young Men...
As many as 200 young men at a time were living here. There was a hustle and bustle of activity as they built over 80 stone and log structures, buildings and objects (such as picnic tables, benches and fire rings). They built the hiking trails, roads, campground, and installed a sewer system, too.

At night, they relaxed in the "rec hall", played sports, took classes (such as woodworking, auto mechanics, or typing) or enjoyed leisure time in the camp library.

Imagine... this is what the scene was like from 1934-1941!

Building a Park
The CCC boys were unmarried, 18-24 year-old men who enrolled for a period of 6-24 months. They earned $30 per month, but only kept $5. The rest was sent to their parents to support their families.
