Toledo in Lucas County, Ohio — The American Midwest (Great Lakes)
The Man Behind the Name
The area of Manhattan Marsh Preserve that today contains the parking lot, restroom, and basketball court was once owned by the City of Toledo and known as Blair Area.
Roy R. Blair, 1880-1954, lived in Toledo for much of his lifetime. He owned Palma Orchards and was also the founder of a major development company in Toledo in the 1920s - Blair Realty and Investment. His influence resulted in the City of Toledo naming the area after him.
Today, Metroparks merges the past and the present by remembering citizens like Roy R. Blair who positively impacted Toledo.
