1. Welcome to Heritage Circle... Marker
Inscription. Heritage Circle was created by the Luling Main Street organization as a platform to recognize several extraordinary people from Luling who achieved nationwide acclaim for their outstanding contributions. A partnership with the annual "Night in Old Luling" event in October 2013 helped fund some of the early infrastructure, while the rest was funded by Luling Main Street's Annual Rajun' Cajun Throwdown & Gumbo Cookoff which is held on the 2nd Saturday in March each year.

...Time stops for no one, and it is crucial that present and future generations share the stories that preserve our past, but most importantly, to honor those who have achieved so much...

Lower Left: The circular cement sidewalk at this site was built many decades ago by the Luling Kiwanis Club and preserved for use in Heritage Circle. Kiddie-cars zoomed kids around here for many years during the Annual Luling Watermelon Thump that is held during the last full weekend in June each year.
Lower Middle: Here is an artist's rendering of Heritage Circle that was used to promote the project after the idea was proposed to the Luling City Council in July of 2013.
