Inscription. Born 1451, Genoa, Italy, his youth was sailing with explorers. From his readings of the scholars and the geographer, astronomer Ptolemy he conceived the theory to navigate the unexplored Atlantic Westerly as a trade route to the Orient in 1492. He chartered the route uniting to America the richly diverse cultures of the Western-Eastern hemispheres.
