1. Century III Marker
Inscription. Century III was a year-long celebration of Nashville's 200th birthday. on Founder's Day, December 23, 1979, descendants of original settlers led a walk across the Woodland Street bridge to the Public Square. Settlement Day in April 1980 commemorated the arrival of the families via flatboats with a full day of events. Riverfront Park and contributions to the city's written history are its lasting legacy.
