In loving tribute, this monument is dedicated to our men of the 28th Ga. Co. G, Freeman's Guard by the city of Resaca, the Friends of Resaca battlefield and the Civil War re-enactment group 28th Ga. Co. G/123 NY Co. D.

These brave men left their North Georgia homes in 1861 to answer the call of duty to defend their homeland.
