1. Nonnenhaus / Nunnery Marker
Inscription.  
1488 erbaut. Vermutlich anfangs von Dominikanerinnen, später von Beginen bewohnt. Nach der Reformation Wohnhaus des Botanikers Leonhart Fuchs (1501-1566), der hier den ersten botanischen Garten anlegte. Nach ihm wurde später die Fuchsie benannt. Der Vorbau am Ammerkanal, früher als Sprachhaus bezeichnet, diente ursprünglich als Abort.

Built in 1488. Probably at first the residence of Dominican nuns, later of Beguines. After the Reformation residence of the botanist Leonhart Fuchs (1501-1566), who here laid out the first Botanical Garden. The fuchsia was later named after him. The front part, facing the Ammer canal, once called the »Sprachhaus«, was originally used as a lavatory.
