In the framework of the celebrations for the 200th Anniversary of Mexico as an Independent Nation, this marker was placed in honor of the insurgents:

201st Anniversary of the foundation of the municipality of Ocoyoacac.

Mexican patriots who fought for Independence under the orders of Miguel Hidalgo Costilla.
