1. Bilby Loop Marker
The left hand panel is the historical marker. The panel on the right lists the park trails and their length, and provides figures to calculate the length of laps in miles.
Inscription.
Bilby Loop. . In 1926, an inventive surveyor named Jasper S. Bilby, chief signalman of the U.S. Coast and Geodetic Survey, designed the nation’s first galvanized steel surveying towers. Bilby Towers bolted together easily and could be quickly dismantled for use at the next survey site. The last remaining Bilby Tower was recently reconstructed for permanent display in Jasper Bilby’s hometown of Osgood, Indiana.

4. Eagle View Trail and its Marker
This marker does not qualify as a historical marker, but it is near the Bilby Loop marker. The Eagle View Trail starts opposite the Bilby Loop Trail and skirts the eastern shore of the lake. The text reads
Eagle View received its name from a Bald Eagle that has been spotted here numerous times sitting in the tree line hunting and fishing right here at the Osgood Trails. Keep an eye out you just might see one.
