Bascom in Jackson County, Florida — The American South (South Atlantic)
Bascom School
Originally it had four classrooms and an auditorium with stage. In 1942 the southeast classroom was converted to a lunchroom. Classes were held in the school until 1963. It served as the town hall until 2001. Alumni and friends preserved the school in 2010.
The town of Bascom was a river settlement, being a day's horse ride from Neal's Landing on the Chattahoochee River.
