1. Orange Grove Marker
Inscription.
Orange Grove. California State University Northridge. The grove's more than 400 orange trees serve as one of the last vestiges of the San Fernando Valley's agricultural history. Harvested fruit is regularly donated to local food banks. The grove has been transformed into a welcoming retreat with the addition of a 270-foot meandering stream and pond, serving as a home for ducks, red-eared slider turtles, koi and goldfish, as well as a variety of colorful flowers including water lilies and water hyacinths. The five acre site is modeled after a California seasonal wetland.
