Inscription. Sharon Hurt is a graduate of Tennessee State University and served as the Director of Admissions and Records for 16 years at Meharry Medical College. She currently holds the position of Executive Director for the non-profit organization, J.U.M.P. (Jefferson Street United Merchants Partnership). Mrs. Hurt guides the vision and leads the members of J.U.M.P. on their mission to develop, foster, and promote cooperative economic development through revitalization, acquisition, education and public safety programs in North Nashville." Her leadership and commitment to the Jefferson Street community and the Gateway to Heritage project has been enormous. This project, and many other improvements on Jefferson Street, would not have been possible without Sharon Hurt.
