He went on to serve as Chief Medical Officer at Metro General Hospital and was named Chief Executive Officer at Metro Nashville Hospital in 2005. He currently is President and Chief Executive Officer at Regional Medical Center in Memphis. Dr. Coopwood has been named one of Tennessee's Healthcare Top 25, Memphis Magazines Who's Who, and the Memphis Business Journal's Health Care Hero in Administrative Excellence.
