The 28' "E" Scow replaced the 20' Sandbagger Sneakbox as the fastest sailboat class on the Bay in the late 1920's. Originally built on the Great Lakes and accepted on Barnegat Bay in 1924. This Scow was probably built by Melges in before 1970 on the Great Lakes. This date is based on the hardware which was used prior to this date.
