One section (two guns) of this battery was engaged here from 3 p.m. to 5.30 p.m. April 6, 1862.

Location. 35° 8.273′ N, 88° 20.556′ W. Marker is near Shiloh, Tennessee, in Hardin County. Marker is on Corinth-Pittsburg Landing Road, on the left when traveling west. Located in Duncan Field at stop four, Ruggles Battery, on the driving tour of Shiloh National Military Park. Touch for map. Gun cast by Tredegar Foundry in Richmond, Virginia. Muzzle markings indicate this piece was foundry #1531, produced for Edenton Battery (initials EB). On the trunnions are markings for "J.R.A. & Co // TF" indicating Joseph R. Anderson & Company, Tredegar Foundry. The original gun was cast in 1862. (The gun is now located in Edenton, North Carolina.
