Regarding Virginia House. The Federal-style brick building originally consisted of a hotel in the western section and Dunn's grocery and general store in the eastern portion, each with its own entrance. After Dunn's death, his sons took over the businesses and renamed the hotel “The Virginia House”. They sold the east portion to the Bank of Abingdon in 1873 and the hotel in 1879 to Frank S. Findlay, who renamed it “The Arlington House”. Both sides were “rejoined” in 1965, and the building has housed law offices since 1962.
