2. Bankhead's Tennessee Battery Position
The tablet is flanked by two 12-pdr Field Howitzers. Both howitzers were produced by Quinby & Robinson of Memphis, Tennessee. The battery was formed in Memphis, and there is some conjecture that the cannon that originally equipped the battery were produced by Quinby & Robinson.

3. 12-pdr Field Howitzer
The Quinby & Robinson 12-pdr Field Howitzer generally followed the pattern used for the pre-war Model 1841 12-pdr Field Howitzer for Federal contracts. Both cannon on display at this tablet are stamped with the manufacturer's marks. The one in this photo was cast in 1861. The other in 1862.
