Inscription. In 1932, Dr. Godfrey Nurse was selected to be the first Black Presidential elector by the Democratic Party. The founder of Harlem's Godfrey Nurse Research Laboratory, Dr. Nurse was a generous philanthropist, community activist and one of the driving forces behind the development of Lenox Terrace.
