One of the longest migrations of any North American bird.
Diet: pigeons, starlings, ducks and other birds, which are caught in the air.
Range: Found on all continents except Antarctica; from tropics to deserts and tundras to waterways.

Conservation Corner
DDT nearly wiped out peregrine falcon populations in eastern North America, but reintroduction programs have restored their numbers since the pesticide was banned.
