Second largest member of the deer family after the moose.
Can weigh up to 1,000 pounds.
May run as fast as 40 miles per hour.
Diet: Seasonal grasses, flowers and woody plants.
Range: Once widespread in Canada and the US, now mostly restricted to western North America.
