1. Route 66 Marker
Inscription. Route 66 was established in 1926 as the original U.S. Highway linking Chicago and Los Angeles. The route passed right by this property. During its early years, automobiles were fairly primitive and unreliable. Cars similar to this "Model T" kiddie ride were used to travel the route. Imagine what it would be like driving through the hot desert during the summer with no air conditioning.
