Lakashi Nishiyama, Toyota's mayor, and fifteen members of the Toyota City Council were present at the ceremonies. Mayor Coleman Young presented Toyota's mayor with a small replica of Marshall Frederick's leaping gazelle sculpture, which was created for the Levi Barbour Fountain in Belle Isle.
