1. 6th and Hood Marker

Inscription. The Centennial Summer Beer Garden, Saloon, Bowling Alley and Dance Hall, established here by German immigrant Peter Lehnen, served the surrounding German and Bohemian neighborhood from 1876 until the Prohibition era. The Centennial Garden site now serves the south side neighborhood center.

Erected 1999 by the City of La Crosse, the City's Historic Preservation Commission and the Federal Department of Housing and Urban Development. (Marker Number 4.)
