FBI Special Agent Terry Ray Anderson
1924-1966
On May 17, 1966, FBI Special Agent Anderson was shot and killed while searching for a kidnap victim in the rugged mountain terrain near Shade Gap, Pa. William Hollenbaugh, also known as “Mountain Man,” had abducted a 17-year-old girl, Peggy Ann Bradnick, and held her captive for seven days. Anderson was shot while he and tracking dogs were pursuing the fugitive. The victim was rescued and Hollenbaugh was killed by a PA state policeman.

Thirty-six FBI agents have been killed as a result of adversarial action to date (2011), 34 men and 2 women.
